I was stuck with the third dilator and now I can work up to the largest after getting Botox a few times. The recovery time was pretty quick. Every doctor I've been to has told me they won't make me do a pap smear because of the vaginismus. Forcing yourself to go through the pain can make things worse. The exam for vaginismus is much less intense than a pap smear. I'd recommend getting an exam, getting some treatment, then when you're ready, get a pap smear.
